Every Day Should Be Bank Transfer Day

Every Day Should Be Bank Transfer Day

A few Fridays ago on November 4, 2011 a new movement known as, 'Bank Transfer Day' began in which every day Americans like you and me stepped out to change things. I am not talking about a bunch of presumptious yuppy liberals with money in the bank like the Occupy Wall Street movement, but regular people who were fed up with the every day policy of moral hazard of the largest banking institutions like Bank of America and Wells Fargo.

According to BC Politics nearly 20,000 new members a day were added to local credit unions through October and nearly double that amount thus far through November. Although I wouldn't totally disagree with the protest of Occupy Wall Street, I like so many others across this country have to go to work every day.

True protest is change, that is to not repeat the same idiocy over and over. Rather than protest in the financial districts and downtowns across America, I'd rather act and hit the big banks where it hurts most. Hence, the reason for Bank Transfer Day, many Americans feel the need to stop feeding the greed-infested parasite that is big banks.

I would encourage you to move your money to a local member-owned credit union as well and if you want to encourage this movement of economic freedom please check out the Move Your Money Project
( www.moveyourmoneyproject.org ).

Go out and do your best and be wise with all you have. If we are to be good stewards of all the money we are blessed with, then shouldn't we also keep our money with a financial institution that also exemplifies good stewardship? It is my hope that times will get better and we can put an end to engendering the moral hazard of the banks and their credit default swaps and other irresponsible investment of our money.

Be the change you want to see.

All the best and God bless.
