I have been otherwise engaged for the past few months working, working and then working some more. Also I met the woman of my dreams and last weekend we were married.
My past year or so living here in New Orleans has taught me a lot of things. One is that so many things are relative. Progress, politics, social norms, and people in general are all relative and subject to change from one perception to another. There is one surety, and that is that it takes hard work, money, and time to make anything work.

That being said I will soon be leaving New Orleans once I am able to secure a job and a place for my new wife and I in the VA/DC area. I've lived there before and am excited to be getting back there and starting a new life with my true love.< Of course I will be sad to leave my beloved Louisiana as there is nowhere else in the world like it and nowhere I'd rather live. Yet when faced with the decisions of life, especially when they affect my son and wife, ...well, Gordon Gekko said it best, "What's worth doing, is worth doing for money.
The political situation is in a state of flux with ignorant people on both sides of the aisle standing in the way of real reform. At the end of the day the only thing important to them is getting re-elected. That is why there was no government shut-down. Both sides were hedging their bets as to the political fallout and found that the risks were too great as to potential blame this close to an election year. I love Louisiana, yet sometimes decisions must be made so that we can take better care of our families. God-willing I will be back here one day and will be able to do more substantive good in the state where I was born and have come to love.
Still you can expect me to lend some commentary and a few tidbits of wit and sarcasm, and hopefully some real insight on the political situation as it affects Louisiana as well as us up in DC/VA. Thank you for all your prayers and to all the friends I've made here in New Orleans while I've lived here. I love you and cherish you all and New Orleans will always have a special place in my heart.
I will be in New Orleans til sometime in May when I will be making the move up to VA/DC to be with my wife in our new place. Looking forward to visiting with as many of you as possible before I make my way.
